Also plants have a right to species-appropriate handling
What does the welfare of a plant consist of? Mostly the price tag tells us how much sun and water it needs. But its needs are far more complex. As recent research suggests, also plants are entitled to a natural environment, to a social life and to the conservation of their species. The have the right to be treated as living beings. We ought to reflect on which ways of treating them we could ethically justify. More…
